Creating a new future full of possibilities at Meisha Academy
May 08 2020

preface
With the advent of the 2020s, the COVID-19 is raging around the world, and Meisha Academy is also facing unprecedented challenges. During the winter vacation, both teachers and students returned to their hometowns, so the school was severely affected. What happened next is almost a miracle, as the school's curriculum suddenly turned into online teaching, and students and teachers will mainly rely on online interaction in the coming months (please refer to the previous article). The unprecedented transition from offline teaching to online teaching has also brought us a series of new challenges and opportunities, and in the coming years, we hope to better face these opportunities and challenges.
In order to prepare for returning to school, we have done the following three things, which are also to prepare for the future:
safety first
On the occasion of returning to campus, the primary task is to ensure the health and safety of students. Specifically, we have taken comprehensive preventive measures, including setting up temperature check stations at the school entrance and clearly setting up guidelines to ensure safe social distancing during lunch in the cafeteria. In addition, we also focus on providing students with a sense of security, letting them know that the school will support them both academically and spiritually. For this reason, the Student Health Development Center of the academy is also seeking social cooperation to provide assistance to students who are facing difficulties during the epidemic. The teachers on campus are also well prepared, so when students return to school, they can provide academic support to help them prepare for the final exams.
Autonomous learning for teachers and students
As for the teaching process, we plan to let students choose the time and place for learning. On the occasion of returning to school, not all students can immediately return to campus due to geographical limitations or their own choices. So during the transition phase, students and teachers can flexibly choose to work and study abroad, as some of our teachers are still trapped abroad. When we return to school, one of our key tasks is to provide personalized learning progress and content for students. Teachers will design synchronous and diachronic teaching, hoping that students can master new knowledge through this method. Finally, through online assessments and collection of student information from online courses, we will also use data-driven support to enable teachers to better understand and review student performance. We are currently doing this, and we will continue to do so in the future.
Moving towards blended learning mode
Looking ahead to the future, Meisha Academy has also begun to plan the prospects of blended online and offline learning models to cope with the next unexpected situation. The COVID-19 epidemic has more or less taught us some ways to deal with the crisis. No matter what may happen in the future, we are now better prepared because we can support our teachers with the best platforms and tools, so that they can have more reasonable learning methods, whether online or offline.
The future is promising, and we hope that Mesa Academy can learn from this epidemic and bravely prepare for tomorrow's new world.
