Orange Snow and the Distance
Orange Snow and the Distance

Speaking of which, it's also a kind of fate. One day, I saw a photo of a small orange walking on the snow in Snowy City on Instagram. Against the backdrop of white snow, the small orange appears particularly bright. Perhaps that night, Syracuse University planted a small seed in my heart.

In fact, it is quite difficult to find a suitable major during the application process. In addition to searching for suitable universities and professional introductions through the official website, I also constantly strive to explore the areas that I am truly interested in through course learning and activities.

Through the study of basic courses in the first year of high school, I have determined my desired direction for studying humanities, and I am very interested in psychology, linguistics, and gender research. Through studying in class Research Seminars and reading a large number of extracurricular books, I conducted a study on the impact of gender inequality and gender discrimination on Chinese society. At the same time, out of my love for writing, I founded a writing club in my first year of high school and also participated in the writing and editing of the school's newspaper Pulse, which lasted for three years in high school. In order to deepen my understanding of linguistics, I participated in the summer program on language diversity at the University of Washington in my first year of high school. During my summer school studies, I was exposed to language courses at the university level and gained an understanding of the commonalities and differences in language between different cultures and societies. Through my exploration in my first year of high school, I have become more interested in gender research in my future major. Therefore, in the Research Seminar courses of my second and third year of high school, I also conducted research on the distribution and changes of LGTBQ group admissions in American universities. During the summer vacation of my sophomore year, I also participated in an academic program at Boston University and conducted a social survey where individuals of different genders with mental illnesses sought help from the public. The summer school period also deepened my understanding of universities in Boston and New York. The cultural atmosphere in the East United States deeply attracted me and gradually helped me determine the target area for applying to universities.

In addition, the primary reason for being admitted to Syracuse University this time is because of my main article. Taking one point from my main article as an example, in daily life, it has always been for men to wear suits and for women to wear skirts. However, few people have ever wondered why girls must wear skirts, especially in some activities where it is mandatory for girls to wear skirts and men to wear suits. Why does this phenomenon occur? I was fortunate enough to participate in a Colombian social science competition, and our group also chose a social norm between men and women. The topic of discussion was why when male and female students go shopping together, why do boys carry a bunch of things instead of girls? These various phenomena are all related to power and gender. Of course, in the classroom, the various papers that the teacher requires us to write are also topics that I discuss based on gender and equality. Immersing myself in browsing various websites to understand people's understanding of gender and their views on equality will allow me to gain more relevant knowledge, and also let me know the mainstream ideas in today's society. When drafting the main text, I also expressed my concern about this question

In short, because of the company and support of those I care about, as well as my own persistence, I had the opportunity to leave the application season early. At the same time, because of the opportunity given to me by Little Orange, I had the opportunity to see the orange snow slowly fall and walk towards the distance with my head held high. Finally, I also hope that after reading this article, you will receive an offer from Dream School because you have the courage, companionship, and dreams.

Review of guidance for further education
Li Meng has always been a optimist in my eyes, and every time I see her, I am infected by her bright smile. The biggest highlight of her application is her professional interest - Gender Studies, which is highly aligned with the activities, and she has spent a lot of time seizing all available resources for continuous exploration. From being very interested in linguistics, journalism, and gender research at the beginning, to conducting in-depth learning and exploration through different projects at summer schools and on campus research seminars, she is also one of the few students who participated in three different summer school projects in high school to explore her professional interests. Finally, she determined her professional direction and applied for gender research, and the overall process of professional interest clues and exploration was completed in one go. Secondly, when choosing ED school, her optimistic attitude and determination towards her target school deeply moved me. Although she couldn't conceal her excitement and nervousness when submitting her first university application for the first time, she was always optimistic and positive in the process of preparing materials. After submitting her ED and EA applications, she actively applied and prepared for RD without any delay in any aspect. When discussing the decision of ED school, I also encouraged her to apply to some more aggressive schools, but her understanding of Syracuse University and determination to win ultimately made me resolutely choose to support her decision. Although getting admitted to Syracuse University was expected, Li Meng's generosity and transparency also inspired me. I believe she will gain more satisfaction on her future journey and bring more happiness to those around her.
